Word n°15: holiday vs. holidays vs. vacation!

There seems to be a lot of confusion with the word holiday.
Here is a quick and easy explanation:
UK:
Un jour férié = a bank or public holiday
Les vacances d'été, de fin d'année, scolaires = holidays
Mes vacances perso = holiday but there's a grey area, you can also say holidays as in "Where are you going for your holiday(s)?
US:
Un jour férié = a public holiday
Les fêtes de fin d'année = holidays
Mes vacances perso = vacation
And last but not least, the expression is on "holiday", no "s"! Happy holidays to you all!
