You’ve seen it, you’ve heard it but what does it actually mean in French?
And the answer is “ruptures”.
You also know this particular concept, don’t you ? (look at the name of the page in French)
But doesn’t the word “rupture” exist in English I hear you say! Yes, it does indeed but it means something completely different.
If a dam (un barrage) breaks open, it is ruptured.
If you have a hernia, the intervertebral disc is ruptured.
You can also speak of a ruptured aneurysm.
AirB&B, Uber and the likes are said to be disruptors. They change the marketplace, invent new rules and force incumbent companies (les acteurs historiques) to change their business models...
